About the Lawrenceville Co-Op Ministry

The Co-Op Ministry is an ecumenical organization sponsored and operated by an alliance of area churches combining the resources of our members to meet the emergency needs of people in our community. We depend upon support by area churches, individuals, social and civic groups, and foundations. Our ability to serve people in need is in proportion to the amount of support we receive from the community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to glorify God and demonstrate God's love for those in crisis. Our ministry seeks to preserve our clients' dignity while encouraging self-responsibility and spiritual growth. We strive to create a cooperative helping relationship between area agencies and churches and to serve as a clearinghouse to screen needs and to make the most effective use of resources.

What We Do for Our Clients

We assess needs and assist those in need to make connections with various helping sources in the community. We seek to help clients identify ways to achieve self-sufficiency. Click here for a recent example. Click here for a recent article in the AJC about us.

About The Co-Op Ministry Director

Linda Freund

Linda has been the Director of the Lawrenceville Co-Op since 2001. She began volunteering at the Co-Op in 1996. After reading The Prayer of Jabez, she had confirmation that she was called to this position. The 1 Chronicles 4:10 prayer reads: “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” To help the needy of Lawrenceville and Dacula certainly answered the prayer to “enlarge my territory.” To attempt something so big that the glory and honor would go to God alone – “that Your hand would be with me” – convinced her to step out in faith and to be His instrument in directing the ministry.
